Costa Rica Vacations: Guide to Vacations in Costa Rica

Costa Rica vacations are magical, it's as simple as that.

When I first went to Costa Rica I planned on staying three months...this somehow turned into one year. The landscapes of this country are just gorgeous. You have lush jungles, dense cloud forests, soaring volcanoes, raging rivers, heavenly waterfalls, and, of course, the beaches.

Costa Rica means "Rich Coast" for a reason. With coastline on both the Pacific and the Caribbean, vacations here entail plenty of beach-time opportunities. It's a haven for water lovers whether you're swimming in the ocean, rafting down a river, or windsurfing a lake in the mountains. Plus there is some pretty decent diving, too.

All of these varied landscapes mean tons of adventure activities, interwoven with plenty of leisure options. You can surf, golf, dive, white-water raft, go fishing, or get a luxurious massage on the beach. Actually, there are some super luxurious options if you're so inclined, like the Four Seasons resort, or perhaps a gorgeous and private boutique hotel on the beach.

But great vacations require some planning and thought. When you only have a couple weeks a year for travel, you really want to ensure you're making the most of your time.

Below you'll find resources for all things related to vacations and travel in Costa Rica. If you have any other questions, please head over to our Costa Rica Travel Q & A forum and post your questions there. I'll answer to the best of my ability and as quickly as possible.
